Sample questions from the Full G1 Knowledge Test test

Three real questions, written the way the test writes them. Open the answer on each one to see why the right option is right and why the others are not. Start the test above for the rest.

  1. Downward-pointing white triangle with a wide red border

    Question 1

What does this sign require you to do?

    • ACome to a complete stop every time, even if no other traffic is present.
    • BYou have the right of way over traffic already in the intersection.
    • CTraffic on the crossing road must stop and let you go first.
    • DSlow down, let traffic in the intersection go first, and stop if you need to.
    Show the answer and explanation

Answer: D. Slow down, let traffic in the intersection go first, and stop if you need to.

A yield sign means you give up the right of way. Slow down on approach, be ready to stop, and let traffic already in the intersection or on the through road go first. A full stop is needed only when the way is not clear.

  2. Question 2

Two vehicles enter an intersection from opposite directions. One is turning left and the other is going straight. Who has the right of way?

    • AThe driver that is going straight.
    • BThe driver that is making the left turn.
    • CThe driver who is driving at a higher speed.
    • DThe driver who reached the intersection first.
    Show the answer and explanation

Answer: A. The driver that is going straight.

A driver turning left must yield to oncoming traffic going straight, because the turn crosses that vehicle's path. Arriving first or having a green light does not change it. Wait for a gap large enough to complete the turn without making the other driver brake.

  3. Question 3

If not posted, then what is the maximum speed limit in cities, towns and villages?

    • A20 km/h.
    • B50 km/h.
    • C75 km/h.
    • D60 km/h.
    Show the answer and explanation

    Answer: B. 50 km/h.

With nothing posted, the default is 50 km/h inside a built-up area and 80 km/h outside one. Treat those as fallbacks rather than the norm: most roads carry a posted limit that overrides them, so read the signs instead of assuming.
