Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 14, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at greenhorndriving.ca, the web application at app.greenhorndriving.com, and the driving instruction services provided by Greenhorn Driving Inc. (“Greenhorn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada.

By creating an account, enrolling in a package, or booking a lesson, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

1. Eligibility

  • You must hold a valid Ontario G1 (or higher) driver’s licence to book in-car driving lessons.
  • Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the enrollment process on their behalf using our parent enrollment flow.
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date.

2. Services

Greenhorn is an MTO-approved driving school offering the following services through our web application:

Beginner Driver Education (BDE)

Our BDE package includes a 30-hour online theory course (e-course) and 10 hours of in-car instruction. Upon successful completion of both components, students receive an MTO-recognized BDE certificate. The BDE certificate may allow insurance providers to rate you as a driver with additional experience. Whether you receive a discount and how much depends entirely on your insurance provider and policy.

TurboTest Pro

Includes everything in the BDE package plus the use of an instructor’s vehicle for your road test day and a mock examination. Availability of the road test vehicle is subject to scheduling and instructor availability.

Private Lessons

Individual in-car lessons billed hourly. Private lessons do not include the BDE e-course or MTO certification.

3. Account and Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Parent-enrolled accounts are activated via a one-time SMS code sent to the student’s phone number. The parent/guardian is responsible for providing a valid phone number.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are inactive for an extended period, or are used fraudulently.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
  • BDE and TurboTest Pro packages include a $30 certification fee covering program certification and registration.
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable amount.
  • BDE and TurboTest Pro packages grant lesson credits (1 credit = 1 hour of in-car instruction). Credits are applied automatically when booking lessons.
  • Private lessons are paid individually at the time of booking.
  • Prices may vary by service area and are displayed at the time of enrollment or booking.

5. Booking, Cancellation, and Rescheduling

Booking

Lessons are booked through the web application by selecting an available instructor and time slot. Bookings are confirmed once payment is processed or a lesson credit is applied.

Cancellation policy

  • More than 24 hours before the lesson: full refund (private lessons) or credit returned (BDE/TurboTest).
  • Less than 24 hours before the lesson: no refund issued and the lesson credit is consumed. This applies regardless of who cancels.

Rescheduling

  • Lessons can be rescheduled through the app if done more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • Rescheduling within 24 hours is not permitted.

No-shows

If a student does not show up for a scheduled lesson without prior cancellation, the lesson credit is consumed or the payment is forfeited.

6. BDE Program Terms

  • Students must complete both the 30-hour online e-course and all 10 in-car lesson hours to qualify for the MTO BDE certificate.
  • E-course access is provided through a third-party platform. Greenhorn is not responsible for third-party platform downtime or technical issues, though we will assist with resolution.
  • BDE certificates are issued with a unique verification code and can be verified by contacting Greenhorn directly.
  • Lesson credits included in BDE and TurboTest Pro packages are valid for the term specified at the time of purchase and displayed in your account.

7. Referral Program

  • Active students receive a unique referral code that can be shared with friends and family.
  • Referral rewards are paid out when the referred student enrolls in a BDE or TurboTest Pro package and completes the e-course component.
  • Rewards are delivered as a $75 CAD digital gift card through Tremendous. Available options include Walmart, PayPal, Uber Eats, and Tim Hortons (subject to availability).
  • Self-referrals, fraudulent referrals, or referral manipulation will result in disqualification and potential account suspension.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time with reasonable notice.

8. Instructor and Lesson Conduct

  • All instructors are MTO-approved and have undergone background checks.
  • Students must follow the instructor’s directions during all in-car lessons.
  • Students must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance during a lesson. Instructors reserve the right to end a lesson immediately if they believe the student is impaired. The lesson credit or payment will not be refunded.
  • Students must present a valid Ontario driver’s licence at the start of every lesson.
  • Greenhorn reserves the right to reassign an instructor if necessary due to availability, illness, or other operational reasons.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Greenhorn provides its services “as is” and makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, reliability, or fitness of our website, application, or driving instruction services.
  • Greenhorn is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Greenhorn in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Greenhorn does not guarantee the outcome of any road test. The BDE program prepares students for testing, but passing is the responsibility of the student and at the discretion of the examiner.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Greenhorn Driving Inc., its instructors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Ontario.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active users by email. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
